When the site was purchased, there were seven old dwellings that only provided three homes, 10 apartments and very limited parking. The combined expertise of Associated Florida Architects, Eng Denman Civil Engineering and Trunnell Construction transformed the location into a beautiful complex that provides 12 one bedroom/one bath and 29 two bedroom/two bath luxury condominiums. Parking on site includes 37 spaces, 17 of which are covered.

OakGate Condominiums, 2900 NW 6th Street. The first phase consists of 32 two and three bedroom residents, each with two and a half bathrooms. All are traditionally styled town homes with garages, porches and some have bay windows. A traditional townhouse motif was utilized, employing pleasing colors that add a fresh appeal to the neighborhood.

2005 City Beautification Board, Gold Award

Schackow, Mercadante & Edwards Law Office, 4545 NW 8th Avenue. An excerpt from the 2005 City Beautification Awards program: The City Beautification Board awarded their Gold Award to the Schackow, Mercadante & Edwards law office building. This building emulates the gothic design of the buildings at the University of Florida. The architect, Robert Taylor of Associated Florida Architects and the construction management team of Trunnell Construction combined the traditional look of the university with a modern office building and turned a vision into a beautiful reality. This building is an exquisite addition to the Gainesville community.
